The Illini Bio-Energy plant is expected to be similar to the Badger State Ethanol plant built in 2002 in Monroe, Wisconsin (pictured here).

Plant Location
The plant will be located at Hartsburg, Logan County, Illinois. An appropriate site has been purchased and most required permits are in place. Applications for additional amendments and/or time-specific permits will be submitted when needed.

Ethanol Production Capacity
The plant, as designed, will produce 130 million gallon of ethanol each year, which will be marketed across Illinois and the U.S. as a clean-burning, high-octane transportation fuel additive.

Corn Usage
The plant, as designed, will create demand for 51,000,000 bushels of corn each year.

Corn Germ
The plant will produce 165,000 tons of corn germ each year which will then be marketed as a high-value corn oil source, processed and refined into corn oil for human consumption.

High Protein Meal
The plant will produce 200,000 tons of high-protein meal each year.

Employees
The plant will be staffed by 52 full-time employees.

Energy Source
This facility will combust the bran and syrup stream to provide a substantial portion of the process’ energy needs. This will be supplemented with natural gas.
